I would never. I just have a dark sense of humor sometimes.

It’s fine. I was actually able to limp it to my dealer and they gave me a loaner for the weekend

Back to Takata airbags...

I got the notice from Tesla the other day saying they are now including 2013 builds in the recall (their earlier one was 2012s only). Email said they will contact me when they have the parts. The web page says that 90% of the ‘12s were replaced within a year of the recall, so this could be a bit of a wait. Also mentions its only the passenger bag, and only on Model S (X and 3s don’t have takata inflators...)

My Tesla is now Takata-free. Took it in for a regular service yesterday (the "7-year" service, which is due at 87,500 miles), and they replaced the passenger airbag under the recall.

Unfortunately, the other recall open on my car was not addressed. This is the one for the power steering motor bolts, where the bolts rust out and the motor disconnects and you lose power assist. They are still waiting for the bolts to come in, so I'll get a call when they come in...
