water pump
My wife's highlander has 75k miles and the last time we took it in to the dealer for a oil change they mentioned that they saw some evidence of coolant leak. They said we should proactively change out the water pump. I never seen any coolant on my garage so must be very minimal leaking. Anyways would you change it out ASAP?
thanks Jeff |

Do some research. Options:
1) If Toyota is using the same supplier as BMW, then replace it immediately. 2) If not I can't provide guidance...

Water pumps have a weep hole to let you know when they're going out. Ask them if it's leaking from the weep hole and have them put the car on the lift and show you the evidence they're seeing.
But... it's a Toyota. I have to imagine the water pumps on those things last at least 100k. |
