Market Price Adjustment

From the window sticker of a new Mustang at a local dealer.

note--they had at least 7 on the lot, all with the same sticker.

Gauging consumer interest and reaction prior to slapping $20k AMV on Shelby GT350?

What's the $499 line item? Can't quite read it or I can, but can't figure out what it means.

It says "Key MD." Not sure what it is; lots (all?) of the cars had it, not just the Mustang. I tried to google it last night but nothing came up.

There is a Jeep/Chrysler dealer in my town that has one of those stickers on EVERY single new car on their lot, and they 10-15 Darts on their lot!

Wish I had taken a picture, but when I turned in my 128 two weeks ago to Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA....they had 2 i8's on the showroom floor. Beautiful cars. MSRP was $137,000 on each IIRC and each had a $100,000 market value adjustment on top of that. Plus each had a sign on the driver window that said something like 'car to remain locked at all times, NO test drives.' I'm sure there's more than 2 suckers who will scoop those cars right up!!

I remember seeing that on every Honda on several D.C. area lots, and this was ten years ago. Price negotiations started with crossing it off the list, and whiny dealers got left behind.

It's a shitty practice, but at least we're talking Mustangs here. They wouldn't list it if one or two suckers didn't pay it every time...

it's good for them, if they can get it.

don't they sell anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 mustangs a year, though? pretty short window to get a premium.

i know they're having some supplier issues with some interior bits and pieces, which would slow production down, though.
