The suggested power output on the 3.6 NA is allegedly not possible without the aid of mild hybridization. I am just the messenger. Last edited by SCA; 12-23-2023 at 11:29 PM. |

Ah ok. Kinda figured now that I think about it since even 100hp/liter would only net 360hp which wouldn’t be enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Isn’t the manual gearbox in the 992 basically just the PDK with a manual actuator added? Assuming they integrate the hybrid motor into the PDK, it would seem at least theoretically possible to retain it in a manually actuated version of the transmission.
I agree that the manual is for the time being still a big differentiator for Porsche; I can imagine them trying to work out how to make it work in a hybrid. |

Alternatively, if they do it like GM did with the e-Ray, adding power through a motor on the front axle, that would seem to be entirely transmission agnostic.

This. That would be my approach. Cars are already DBW and highly digital. It's easy enough to tie the electric motor to gas pedal application when in gear.

Yup I think there are plenty of ways for Porsche to make a manual work with a mild hybrid if they so choose.

We could all be screwed and have to buy preowned pre 2025 models.

Have you guys seen this?
https://youtu.be/B3Cab0NZxNs?si=bBVLx2qrBfoVhUc- Two thoughts: 1. The 996TT never felt as fast as 420hp to me. 2. The 992 standard Carrera is totally sandbagging. It’s fucking fast —the new engine is for sure making a lot more power.
