Maybe you haven't heard, but the average pay hasn't exactly kept pace. And it's easier and cheaper to manufacture goods nowadays.

i guess i never think about that. i see your point.

i never buy new vehicles so I haven't had real sticker shock in awhile.

If I had THAT kind of money to blow, I'd buy 3 cars: WRX STi, Ford Raptor, Camaro ZL-1 and spend the remaining $44k on a couple of motorcycles.

Then I'd have a different vehicle to drive or ride every day of the week !!

In the 90's the base 993C2 started at under 60K IIRC. The 993TT was about 110k.

I do know that when the 997 came out in '05, the base 911 was 70K and the S was 80K.

There was also a time when the 986S was 50k. I recall that my '07 987S MSRP'd for 64k and I thought that was outrageous and was glad to get it CPO'd with low miles and less than two years for 40k.

Now you would be looking at a 987.2S with 6+ years and many more miles to get down to 40k. Hard to find a new 718S in stock for less than 80K it seems.

That's why when I found the fully loaded 718s with the price mistake, we jumped on it. I've only seen used ones with fewer bells and whistles at our price. MSRP on ours was around $90k, which is insane.
