Deposit taken, so it's official. Only minor thing is that the car has 99 miles on (we put on 4-5 of those). If the other one, which is identical, has less miles, we'll take that one. But either way, no big deal. We pick it up next week.

Right. Given that it isn't a manual, probably not a big deal.

Exactly.

I will add that to my surprise, this car appears super cheap to insure. Like under $500 per year. Same coverage as the other cars. Maybe because it is a 4th car? Maybe because I put 4-5k miles per year?

Well, with the current 3 cars, I added my oldest and it cost ~$1k. That was a quote from a month ago. He gets his permit the day after we pick up the mini, so I will make both changes at once. The M5 would be another $1k. And at that point I bet the kid quote doesn't stay at $1k.

All set for Tuesday transaction and Wednesday drive-away. We got the new one and they put on the white mirror caps on that my wife wanted. I got a VIN and setting up insurance coverage now.

Now I need to find a big bow to "wrap it" for Xmas.

Did they try to tack on any bs stuff like starguard, paint protection, etc?

We'll see. But I won't take it. We agreed to MSRP. I should probably ask before they force me into that "mandatory" nonsense.

Yeah I only mention it cause our local mini dealer has a “mandatory “ $1600 add on package of bs. Probably worth asking them to send you the final invoice via email before you arrive just so you can double check
