The idea of a wrap is interesting to me.... Our e46 is a hot mess aesthetically, and if it makes it 2 more years for my son to learn to drive on, he wants it red. Obviously i won't let him paint it, but a wrap might be interesting.

I've also had deluisonal thoughts about wrapping the 911 in Aventurine Green. That is my new favorite car color, and I wonder if
A) you can get a wrap that looks decent and mimics the look of a painted car (professionally done, of course)
and
B) does a wrap act in any way like XPel to protect the original paint from chips.
Wrap is generally like a thin paint protection film, protective, but not as much.

The big challenge is that it isn’t going to solve a fucked paint situation. Paint chips will show through and may even be highlighted.

Net-net, you can make a car look really good with a wrap, but the underlying surface comes through.

And wraps age faster than paint, they’re a paint to remove, and you’ll probably want to replace it again or do the repaint you probably should have done to begin with.

Wraps are great when you have a super smooth surface to being with, but want to make it look different for a while.

I have no interest in this but chalk it up to another one of those Japanese car versions I never knew existed. Kind of like the MR2 turbo GTS and the CRX Si VTECH. Still pretty cool with a lesser tuned version of the twin turbo six the next gen Supra got.

With just under a day left, this hasn't gotten as expensive as I expected it to yet. We'll see by tomorrow.

Yeah, it's RNM at this price, I bet, but we'll see.

The RS2 went for a LOT less than I expected. I still couldn't have justified 60K on it, but that seems like a smoking deal for that car based on what others are going for.

A guy on another car board I frequent bought a really minty 928 a year or so ago. It's been in the shop of a 928 expert probably 90% of the time since then.
