Alan - congratulations. Your car looks amazing inside and out. Bmw did a great job on the 5 series facelift. The m550 seems like a surprisingly good value - you now have to spend over 100k with MB, Porsche or Audi to get a v8 mid size sedan or wagon (RS6).

jesus, I did not realize these cars were getting this quick. The M5 Comp goes 0-60 in 3.1 seconds?

I've configured mulitple MB products, especially the e wagon (which is now jacked up and plastic clad unforuntately) as well as the A4 and A6 all road. They all come back ~$10k more expensive with less content nothing to really set them apart from the X3. I'd prefer to get a wagon, but the offerings don't make it worth taking one just for the sake of wagon.

With respect to the sound, I bet that car has a speaker playing artificial engine noise and exhaust. My S4 came with that and I disabled it. Car is quieter on the inside, but what you do hear sounds authentic.

I think I will be perpetually in the 'used car' market from now on...
I can't really think of any new cars that are of interest any more.... The only exception I can think of is for a 3/4 or full ton diesel truck (for towing my trailers). While I do NOT like how big they have become, they have not crossed that line yet...

For sure. With EVs starting to become more common, it seems inevitable that even mainstream family sedans (or whatever that sgement morphs into) will be doing sub 4 second 0-60 times within 5 years.

I think I recall seeing that for BMWs you can do it in the iDrive, but I'm not certain about that.
