They are not "great" cars in any modern sense. But they were great cars for what they were. They were tons of fun. Stupid gobs of torque for it's weight and day. Fantastic instructor on managing weight transfer. Sounded amazing (still nothing less than a Ferrari can match it for pure aural beauty). Comfy for a daily commute or many hour long roadtripping across the country. Essentially indestructible. Just gas in the tank every 150-170 miles, an occasional oil change, and new tires every 15,000 miles. Six shocks. What's not to like?

But...yeah that is too much money for a Fox body Mustang that isn't a well-cared for SVO or Cobra.
Even a perfect SVO, too much for me. Some Cobra versions, maybe, but still probably not.

It's a lot of money, though it makes sense given the condition of the car.

What is it like dealing with BAT ?

Do they help with the ad ?

They seem on the controlling side ...
BAT doesn't seem to 'require' anything, but from what I've seen on successful auctions, the more the better and if you don't present something the BAT faithful will hound you about hiding things.

So far, I haven't had much dealings with them. I submitted all my pictures and a description of the car. About 45 mins later I got an email saying it was accepted and an invoice to pay the $99 listing fee.
I then got an email explaining they would be creating a draft listing for me to review and provide input on and when we agreed, it would go live. Since then I've provided the inspection info and undercarraige pics, but haven't heard anything else yet.

Good plan. Having something unique and nationally advertised is probably the only way to sell a used car right now... You'll probably need to be somewhat available for questions during the sale week. I'm curious to hear about your experience. I think it will substitute some hassle for another kind, but I think it will end up being less hassle. All tire-kicking will be online and compressed to a week! Can the buyer back out at all?

Counterpoint: I think it's absurd. And I love these cars.

I mean, if that's where the market is, that's where it is, but it's ridiculous.

Well a car like this is a unicorn—it’s in incredibly nice shape, and there aren’t many like it anymore. This isn’t about what a 5.0 LX is worth—it’s about what the idea of a perfect LX is worth.

I’m not surprised at the number honestly, though I’m a little surprised that ppl are willing to pay it right now.

Then again, I suspect there’s some YOLO energy in the collector car market right now. It’s a weird time.

Just a follow up on the B.A.T. sales posting of the Z3. Since they took my $99, I've gotten two form emails telling me how it is important to be involved in the comments section and how their un-biasedness sets them apart. No draft listing, no questions, no schedule. Not real impressed so far.

Is it too late to add a reserve?
