I encourage you to read the comments on this 330 ZHP, which are just peak BaT (and ZHP) in terms of the zany anal-retentiveness of both the commenters and the seller.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-bmw-330i-zhp-51/

Also, if you want a ZHP, this may be the one to buy.

I didn't think 230 pictures quite captured the car. Glad they went to 239

Well... When I bought that motor, they hadn't cracked the S54 DME. So that's a major factor. Also, it's got a cable throttle and sounds and looks cool in a way that the S54 doesn't.

But... The S54 will make 50-75hp more than an S50B32 in stock form (software and exhaust modifications only). The S50B32 head is pretty close to maxed out stock, whereas the S54 was badly bottled up by emissions. And you can buy an S54 for $3-4k pretty easily.

Net-net, there's a reason why this engine bay looks a little different today than it did when you and Clyde were over here.

The fact that I took this one in trade helped too.

Equipped like someone won it on "The Price Is Right" or some other TV game show.

That is a good looking motor.

These were terrible when they were new and they aren't better now, and it makes me so irrationally angry that there is any amount of nostalgia for these complete and utter pieces of shit.

Like, I am fine even with fondly remembering the Renault Alliance. But this fucking garbage heap with a neutered V8, terrible interior, and cynical "euro" graphics and ground effects should just be shot into the sun.
