I remember having to special order a single cd in my 01 330ci. I'm still amazed there is a cassette behind the nav on my 03 M5. Talk about slow adoption.

Yea, I think they switched to widescreen nav in 2002 for the E46. And earlier cars had cassette deck standard, in dash CD was a $200 option. That also switched over around 2002.

My 2002 330i had the widescreen nav, but a cassette deck behind the screen. I think I paid like $600 for the 6-CD trunk changer.

Apparently covering a crack in the trim piece. I wonder how hard that trim is to source; it's probably unobtanium.

Also, that looks really dumb. I would have left the cracked trim piece alone.

Sometimes I just want to putz around in one of these....



Then I wake up and realize I used to do that. The old Mercedes diesels are nice, but... Time to move on.
Still thinking about Ted's E39 M5.... or the one in Portland on BaT. That one looks nice too.
