The N54 needs it every 60-75k, it starts running rough and misfired a touch at cold idle. It isn't something that will leave you on the side of the road, just a gradual performance degrade. Walnut blasting is $500. The N55 is less sensitive, and a much less maintenance needy option in general. 2011 on 135i is the way to go.

From what I can tell, 135s go for roughly the same as an e46 m3, perhaps a little higher.
I'm not unswayed by the relative newness and the driving experience of the 135. On the other hand, I apparently have a thing (and a history) of dealing with M quirks, because...dunno. Because M? |
