Second, the purpose of this car is to brainlessly and comfortably transport us and our dog place (usually a couple hundred miles away). In that use case comfort and convenience are key. If we want to engage with a car and have 'a driving experience'. We have the 135 and the Porsche. There is a minimum threshold for driving experience (ride comfort, acceleration, power, noise, etc.). Once those thresholds are met (which the x5 exceeds) additional performance doesn't add a ton of value. The wagon was already good at this, so there's not much improvement. Kind of why an e63amg wouldn't be better in this use case than the e450 was. Edit: I also agree that 45 words are probably too many for a single sentence

I am glad for your feedback and to follow this saga.
This won’t surprise you, but I’m actually thinking about an E450 wagon or the E63 wagon at the moment. MBUX or not. I just like the way Merc does things. My bar for expectations for electronics and “intuitive” in German cars is quite low.

We now have 15k miles on the x5 and remain incredibly satisfied with it. All around great car.

Glad to hear you love it. And, that's encouraging about the 20s, given I have the same size on my GC as well...

Glad you’re enjoying it. We love our X5 too, this might be controversial around these parts but it’s honestly one of my favorite BMWs to date. Obviously a different form & function for a X5 vs. others (3’s, 5, Z4) but just great all around car.
