My friend has a 128i, manual, premium but no sport package. This was a guy that should have bought wdc's zhp and years later finally got around to pulling the trigger (wife wears the pants and hates all manual cars).

You're seriously considering buying a relatively new BMW or an older, maintenance intensive BMW for your kid as a first car?

Don't do that. (Yes, I'm aware Clyde just did this).

I never had a ZHP—just a 330i sport with a manual and the M3 convertible. I think you were encouraging your friend to buy the 330i, which was an excellent value at the time.
