I am willing to guess that the Honda would drive just a little bit better than the Mazda, but that's just a wild guess....

I've read that too. The S2K motor is not unlike an inline-4 motorcycle engine, in that it makes most of its power in the upper range of the powerband.

Winding one out would be pretty fun though.....but I suppose that could get tiresome.

I would go for the Miata any day over the S2000 .. I had a low mileage perfect S2000 which I bought online and I couldn’t wait for the title to come in the mail so I could get rid of it.

Yeah, if I decide to buy new, a leftover '17 would be the wise choice. They say the best time to buy new is between Christmas and New Year when the best deals are to be made, but choices may be limited by then.
