Wrap the Miata?

Will probably never do it, but the front bumper is in sad shape (sandblasted, basically) and the color, while nice enough isn't super exciting.

I was thinking of maybe next year trying a DIY wrap, since the car is so freaking small with simple body lines and small (and few) panels. Trouble is, it has some dents that would show through.

Options

1) Do nothing- it looks fine from 10-20' away.
2) Fix dents ($$$-$$$$)
3) Wrap with dents unfixed
4) Fix dents without repainting and wrap, so wrap looks good.

Fixing dents is pretty cheap these days - find your local PDR guy. Also, a front bumper respray shouldn't cost more than a few hundred bucks either.

DIY wrap is a disaster waiting to happen.

Most of the small dents can be PDR'd - probably undered $500. There is the biggest dent which has no chance of PDR. That will probably add $500. A front respray is probably another $400-500. To do it right, I'm looking at well over $1k.

I dunno. I'm inclined to do nothing or at least not try to make the current paint look great.

I dunno about DIY wrap being a disaster. I'm pretty good at that kind of stuff. Never done it though, so it could be a sub-par, but I think it would be likely to be acceptable.

Yup. That's why it's likely I'll do nothing.

Ok, I'll change my vote. Please wrap it yourself. Pretty please.

You could just spray the whole thing with bed liner?

I would leave it.
