Boxster Cosmetic Upgrade

Not to be outdone by FC, here's a shot of my most recent cosmetic upgrade for the Boxster. My wife got me for father's day a set of the exhaust tips from an RS60 (which actually are now standard on new S cars). I'm normally not one for this kind of upgrade, and my wife gave me endless shit about installing fart tips on the car, but the visual improvement is (IMHO) so profound that it was worth doing.

Below are before and after shots.

The new tips also have true dual outlets, as opposed to a fake dual Y'd off a single pipe, so maybe there's some very negligible performance benefit, too.

...does not compute.

edit:
Ok, I looked it up. That is a goofy arrangement. Does the pipe from the mufflers go straight through, or does each one just make a 90 deg. turn?

One pipe from each muffler goes into either side of the unit in the picture. The unit in the pic has a single pipe that's open end-to-end, with the two actual exhausts coming off that pipe at a 90 degree angle. It seems like the least efficient design possible, and is a PITA to replace, since you have to spread the mufflers apart using a clamp/spreader to get the thing out. But who am I to argue with German engineering?

I think these have been standard on the S since at least '08 -- My car has the round shaped ones...

I think it was an option. This thread includes a number of people back in '08 discussing the RS 60 tips.

And here are a couple of '08 Boxster Ss with the "standard" S tips:

EDIT: Do you have a full options list for your car, or the build sticker showing the options codes? Mine is stuck to the bottom of the frunk lid; there are a number of places online you can decode the options list.

EDIT to EDIT:

After surfing through a few listings on Porsche's pre-owned search tool, it looks like on the '07 Caymans at least round pipes came with the "Chrome Exhaust Pipe" option. It probably also came with the "Porsche Sport Exhaust" cars, but I can't find any pictures of a car so equipped. The '08 Boxsters definitely came stock with the same tips that my car did; every non RS60, non-PD, non-creamsicle car on Porsche's website has those tips.

I looked at my car when out for lunch -- it has the oblong tips, not round.

I just cleaned them when I washed the car 8 days ago too -- I think I'm coming down with Alzheimer's...

How about all red taillights from suncoast? They look great on all cars (except Guards red).
