Lol—you’re not alone, though I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s meh. It’s a cool design but to me nowhere close to some of the Pininfarina or Bertone designs of the same period. I actually wouldn’t even put it in the top spot of Jaguars—that honor goes to the XJ13, which has way better proportions

The E-type is a pretty car, at least the early ones. I actually drove one a few years back, a 6-cylinder manual gearbox car, and it drove way better than I expected it to. Most stuff from that time period is not very far removed from a tractor, and it was pretty effortless to drive and went down the road nicely. As a comparison point the same guy has a '61 Corvette and that literally drives like an old pickup truck

And yeah, "meh" is a bit harsh. I just don't see the furor over the looks. |

987.1 "RS60" getting strong money on BaT:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...rs60-spyder-4/ There's a lot of interest in this car because it's a special edition but like so many end-of-model-run Porsche special editions it's not really very special--color/trim and a sports muffler? Silver and red is a striking combo, but...other than the rarish interior color it's hard to see how this is more (or even as) desirable than/as the 987.2S. |
