E30 frame rail width just over 27”.
E36 about the same, maybe slightly narrower.

Yeah. Getting the shifter installed required a little bit more effort than expected. Had to do some modifying to get the lever to clear, as well as the selector rod. But got it done. Need to throw the exhaust on, then i’ll be pretty much done underneath the car.

No updates in a while, apparently. I've been distracted in large part because a friend of Mike's really wants to buy the E46, so I've been prepping it for sale.

Anyway, the it runs!

I'm waiting on a couple parts to finish minor aspects of the cooling system, need to clearance the intake manifold so it will fit, bleed the brakes, and then it should drive.

Fingers crossed! I'm hoping to drive it this weekend.

You should insist on the ability to corner weight it soon! Or something.

Wait, selling the E46? That will leave you with a glaring hole in your collection, unless you're planning to replace it with an S54 swapped E46 wagon, which you should do.

There's a guy in Bethesda putting the finishing touches on his swapped E46 wagon. The S54 he had for a while wasn't enough, so he's gone LS7.

So... I’d forgotten how insane the S54 sounds close to 9,000 rpms.
