Wow, $270 for a new 9500ix, or $200 to replace all the guts in my (wife's) ten-year-old V1?

Uh. Yeah the first one sounds quite preferable.

Looks like they were refurbs and are sold out.

The New Passport uses the same M4 chip and general processing, it sounds like. Compared to the 9500ix, it adds the Max like display integrated Bluetooth. On the downside, in addition to losing GPS, it doesn't have autolearn or manual marking capability on its own. If you want any location based assistance (one of the big 9500ix/Max selling points IMO), you have to hook it up to your phone and use the Escort Live app. I haven't used the app in quite a while because it wasn't that great and precluded the use of Waze.

The 9500ix is still available from Escort, but they hide it on their site. Not surprising since they're charging $450 for it. The New Passport is $350.

If I were looking for something new today, I'd wait for the next good pricing on the 9500ix or eat the cost of a Max2.

I got mine refurb from Escort via Amazon. I paid $362. Looks like it's $368 right now.

Pricing for the past year. Includes a few "deal of the day" pricing, but not all of the lightning deals that were only god for an hour or three.

Finally hardwired.

Decided to go with an unconventional right of mirror mount because it is less view obstructive and the display is less important on the Escort. It is very inconspicuous from the outside and nearly invisible from behind the car.

After being a faithful V1 customer for a long time, I probably need to make a move as well. Getting a ton of falses in the audi. I dug into the service menu and turned some stuff off (following a hack recipe). It helped, going from unusable to sub-optimal. I guess I could put it in the e46 m3 that I don't drive all that much. Old car, old detector...

What is the software revision of your V1? The latest is 3.894 (or perhaps newer) and it has a "traffic monitor filter" function to allow ignoring Speedinfo stations. An enhancement to this (TMF2, added in 3.894 and not externally documented yet) adds: "TMF2 improves upon our original Traffic Monitor Filter by blocking most false alarms caused by K-band lane-change warning systems installed in some newer cars."

Note that V1 hardware 1.85 with any software newer than 3.891 will probably be incompatible with the BMW StealthOne add-on due to changing the communication protocol to ESP.

My V1 has become pretty much worthless. While it has the latest guts it is apparently due for a software update to combat the below.

Hmm, I just had mine updated a few months ago. I hope I got this.

Check the last 4 digits of your s/n. I was going to send mine in a few months ago and I do not recall the 'Junk K Fighter' being listed as part of the upgrade. The price also increased from $50 to $79.
