Yokohamas YK580 all-season tire report

Monday morning: Checked weather forecast. 1-3 inches predicted.

Monday afternoon: Decide to drive my Bimmer to work instead of my beater Silverado wearing BFG All-Terrains.

Tuesday after working 10-hours at 0200: My neighborhood gets plummeted with 10 inches of wet, heavy snow.

Great. Freaking great.

I have a 15.6 mile drive one-way to my house. The last 1.3 mile gets incredibly hairy, because the street was UNPLOWED.

But my Bimmer plows along, the car's DSC light blinking on and off wildly as though it's sending some sort of Morse code. I wouldn't be surprise if she was sending out "... --- ..."

SOS.

Luckily, she just putters along, the Yokes doing an incredibly decent job in providing much-needed grip/thrust. I kept on the gas, because I knew that if I stopped, I'd be dead on the tracks.

And I was right. I stopped in front of my house on the street. I then opened the garage door and started shoveling my SLOPED driveway because I knew from past experiences that there was no way she'd make it up to the garage.

At 3 in the morning. After a 10-hour shift. Yay me....

After I shoveled, I shifted into 1st gear and tried to go forward with no success. I then turned off DSC and went to reverse, to stay on the tracks that I had already made. She clawed her way back and I was then able to go up my driveway and into my garage safely.

Next time, if there is ANY chance of snow in the forecast, no matter how insignificant the depth, my rig is going to get used, end of story....
