I seem to recall that the State of Tennessee mandated this change several years ago. Previously all service loaners had dealer tags. Last edited by SCA; 10-28-2023 at 03:41 PM. |

Them: What's your name Me: (give my name) Them: We have no appointment for you [This despite me calling and confirming before I cam in] Me: Last time, we discovered that my first and last name had been transposed in your system; try looking it up that way. They said they were going to fix it Them: blank look folllowed by finding my name and then scolding me for not telling that in the first place (no joke!). Followed by: Go sit over there (points to a row of 'detention chairs') Me (after 15 minutes) with no one acknowledging me and watching various SAs shoot the shit with each other: (Ask receptionist): I'm in for a scheduled service appointment and need to get to work..can you tell me who my service advisor is? Receptionist: Annoyed look then pages whoever the SA is SA: Comes over to me like nothing happened and says "Robert please follow me". We proceed to discuss what needs to be done, but SA has adversarial tone (and this is even about basic maintenance that is covered by BMW) Me: Ok, I'd requested a loaner. SA: I dont have any record of that- you can wait on over there (points back to detention area) to see if we have any loaners left Me: Ask person sitting at desk if they have loaners; once again go through name mixup confusion (Again somehow my fault), get assigned to dirty X1 loaner. End of day (no communication from dealer): Call repeatedly to find out the status. Finally get SA who tells me "yeah youre car is ready when are you picking it up" (Again with the attitude that i somehow should just have known magically) Me: Arrive at dealer to pickup car, track down SA (after lots of waiting and walking around). SA: Your car still needs to be washed. (pick up radio to ask for my car to be washed and brought down). Also tells me that they couldn't reproduce whatever problem i'd reported. [another 15-30 minutes later]- car appears. Oh and of course gives me the obligatory spiel on making sure i give them a 10 on the survey. LOL SOme variation of the above would happen every time. I really dont miss them at all. Contrast that with my last experience at my local LR dealer. I pull in, someone greets me. Loaner paperwork is prepared for me to sign and loaner is ready to go. When work is done I get a text asking me when i'd like to pick it up- no rush. I give them a time, pull in, car is washed and ready to go, SA greets me with paperwork ready to go. |

Since Porsche doesn’t use that 4.0 litre 9A2 anywhere else, I’m amazed they spent the money to certify it both for PDK and for 6 speed manual configurations.
