Additional photos.

Edit: I had to top of the tank prior to returning the Boxster T. It was full this morning. Top off equaled 5.8 gallons. Totally miles added 141 miles.

That's super fun. I've only gotten macans and cayennes. How did the dynamics compare to any 992 cars you've driven? I personally wonder if I'd like the t4 718 better than I did the f6 981 I spent a week in.

Question:

Does the dealership know via software or whatever that you flogged that car close to 10/10s ??

Asking for a friend.

Yep! All they have to do is check the over-rev report. Of course a PDK car will not over-rev.

FYI, since it was not finished with the break-in period I was rather easy on it. That does not mean that someone else has not driven the snot out of it. I came to learn at drop off that it is a preowned unit.

I think I need to go to your dealer for service : I only once got a sports car from Porsche in the past 12 plus years and it was a base Cayman which I loved and ended up purchasing my Cayman.

That is really cool you are getting these fun cars as loaners, it kind of makes you wish you need service more often

It does seem a bit odd that they’re using an optioned-up python T as a service loaner. Was this a customer order car that someone backed out on and now they can’t sell? Or did the dealer just put in a weird spec for dealer stock?

JST, no clue. It is preowned. The federally required “sold as is” was discovered within the vehicle.

They also have a 991.2 Targa as a service loaner, a 992 Cab, along with tons of Macans, Cayennes, and Taycans.

As aforementioned I have previously had a base Boxster and a manual Boxster S in 2022. So far this year I have had two Macans, both S models and the recent Boxster T. They will pretty much let you pick and choose from what they have as well. At least my awesome service writer does!

The Sport software update has required more trips than I would have preferred, but everything was successfully finalized yesterday. My car is now equipped with Sport Chrono which includes PCM Individual Memory and without the dash wart. A plus in my book. This is a PAG approved retrofit.

Come spring 2024 I will have them R&I the new Porsche plugs and coils that I recently purchased from Suncoast and perform a brake fluid flush as well.

Edit: I was hoping to get the Targa, but they loaned it out the night before. After picking my car up and on the way home I passed the lady that was in it. See picture.

I had a similar (though much less cool) experience recently where the dealer gave me car that was clearly for sale as a CPO car as a loaner; they even slapped a dealer plate on it (didn't have its own plate). NOt sure if that's what the Porsche dealer has done with this Boxster but could be something similar. It would kind of make sense as a way to deal with a shortage of loaner cars
