Why the hell do Harley parades get so much special treatment?
We have yet another bunch of 9/11 hounds coming in to town (complete with road and highway closures) in order to demonstrate how patriotic they are by being fat and flag waving and blocking traffic and choking us with their 2-stroke fumes.
Really, it's enough already.

I don't remember many two stroke H-Ds. But yes, parades in general are effing irritating. I'm more annoyed that H-Ds seem to get a free pass for obnoxious exhaust systems... when in the People's Republic of Virginia any slightly modified car exhaust system is a guaranteed fix-it ticket.

For fuck's sake. Why are they doing a 9/11 memorial ride on August 17th?
Also, the new photo policy is kind of annoying. |

I will grant that I have no idea whether or not they are actually two stroke motors. All I know is that the fumes when you're behind a caravan of them are atrocious.

There are a couple "biker" bars* a couple miles away from my house - a couple towns over. One of the towns has a decibel limit specifically set to keep the bikers out of that town...
* I put biker in quotes since these are weekend bikers, not the stereotypical fat biker guy with a beard...

Let me try and post the pic I took at the gas station last night here.
Ah, yes, that works. This work either represents the Death of Art or some sort of patrio-necrophilic flagasm. Of course, it was being pulled behind a Harley trike with matching paint. As between the trike and the rider, I'm not sure which was bigger/heavier. |
