Flat tire

Had a blowout today in the Tesla; hit a pothole at speed and the tire let go.

I was going to just swap on the space saver and be on my way, but decided to try Tesla’s roadside assistance instead—they’ll bring you a loaner wheel/tire and take yours back to the store for repair.

It’s a great idea. In practice, though, it turned what would have been a 20 min tire change into a 2.5 hour ordeal, as the driver had to go out to Tyson’s to pick up the wheel, and then was sent to the wrong quadrant of DC by the dispatcher.

It’s nice having a “real” wheel on the car while I source a replacement tire, but I think in the future I’ll just do it myself.
