Basically, you have a small chance of having to replace a whole bunch of expensive trim.

So what do I do to take it off?

Though, really, what are the odds after 4 years mine will start leaking now.

That link I posted has the DIY. It shows you how to remove the mirror.

I thought there was another service radar-mirror or some such thing.

My mirror doesn't dim (and I think it should) but it's not fluid-y/gross/broken either so I've left it alone. It's not really the car I've been using for long night drives.

From the M5 board research I did when mine failed, if the mirror is already leaking internally it is more than a small chance it will start leaking externally.

Did you read the thread Bren posted w/ Pinecones mirror leaking in the box and destroying his mirror housing. So we got 2 data points of leaking and one lucky guy... I'm with Nick re "you have a *larger than small* chance of replacing a whole bunch of expensive trim pieces."
