I provided my spec, but based on Sam's explanation, that's only important after I have reached the front of the line. At that point they do require a deposit to lock in the order, and then there's still time to modify the spec.

Which is good because I'm still undecided on exterior color and interior configuration (basically do I go full leather or full leather with "race-tex" trim on the seat centers, glove box and door panel inserts? Cost is the same, but going race-tex eliminates ventilated seats as an option and I think I want those)

I honestly have no problem with a deposit requirement, so long as it's refundable; $1000 seems about right. But asking for much more than that is just insulting.

they have a big wait list so...

kind of like the prices of everything currently
