What's the deal with Lambo's?

I mean, since I can remember Lamborghinis have been the "ultimate sports" car. At least that is the image they portray. Lots of money gets you exclusivity, good looks and AWESOME performance.

But do they do any racing? Have any of you guys seen ONE at a track? It seems they really are just an expensive penis enlarger and nothing more.

Is there really any non-posseur reason to own one?

There is a movie floating around the net of one crashing into a wall. Maybe the resident archivist can dig it up for you :P

The Stig sure did well around the track in a Murcielago and a Gallardo.

2 of the fastest cars they tested.

I've never heard of a Team Lambo out there, and I've wondered the same thing. Ever since I was told of them, though, I've always equated them to really rich people who want a fast car. So yeah, they stike me as poseurmobiles for the most part.

Both Lambo's are sub 8 minute cars

seems like a good non-poseur reason to own one

Can we add prices to the chart of stig times?

I strongly suspect that there are almost equally fast exotics that cost quite a bit less.

And, as others have noted, there is no Lambo racing program to speak of. Which does at least give the odor or poseurdom.

The Gallardo is a raging bargain next to the Murci

$175 vs $290

I strongly suspect that a reasonable formula calculating $ to time would place what some sumbitch like to call a "slow ass turd" would be at or near the top of the list.

Sure, Lambos are fast. But I've seen or heard of very few lambo owners actually trying to exploit that in a legal manner. Actually, I've seen none.
