I thought so also but the 991 listings confuse me.

That was super helpful, because I thought Oak was going to be my defacto favorite, but it was way too green in person and we liked the Aventurine more. The agate was bland next to the aventurine, which to me had just the right amount of color without being gaudy. We also got to look at Night Blue, Shark, Gentian, Burgundy, Cherry and some other colors (chalk, white, dolomite, etc) on 911s, Panameras and Taycans. Night Blue was nice but just a little too dark, it was a solid #2 for my wife. Burgundy was very disappointing in person. I liked Cherry quite a bit, probably my #2. At the end we felt really good with the spec we started with, which is nice. I am also starting to move away from the sport design front grille. The black lower valence has grown on my and I think I'd forgo the sport design set up now.

It sounds like the timing or the waiting list will work in a way that I can slip in one of the last .1 cars if I want or get the .2 if it makes sense. It was a good day.

Interestingly, they had 2 sport classics in the showroom, one GT3 and one GT3T, and a speedster on hand.

This was the oak car:

this was the burgundy one that was not nearly as nice of a color as I expected:

I’m super stoked for you and to learn more as your allocation moves forward. Mine is still far off in the distance, so I can’t get excited. But I can get excited for you.

I do… NIB. I am still waiting on Michelin to launch the PS5S. Allegedly they were to launch in November 2022, but for whatever reason it has been delayed and without a new ETA. I suppose it does not really matter as I have got a new set of PS4S mounted on the used Carrera Classics.

Possibly the best factory wheel that the 997 received.

As you know, they also equipped certain Boxsters with the Carrera II wheels. I am a huge fan and have never seen fit to ever change them. I think it’s one of the designs Porsche got just right.

Same for the Carrera S type of wheels pictured on your 997. Those also came on the 40th jahre car also, right? I do like those wheels.

Did Chris Harris sell his 992 GT3 for a GT4RS then?

I know he greatly preferred his 991 GT3 to the 992 GT3. He currently has a G81 Touring and allegedly loves it, minus he pig nose.

Don’t subscribe to Instantgram so I can’t see his post. I’m sure he has his reasons —it will be fun to know the story as it comes out more.

Basically he could only keep the 991 or the 992, and he had an emotional attachment to the 991…but also felt the 991’s suspension was better on UK roads. 992 was too stiff.

Interestingly he also took a bit of a swipe at Porsche UK, saying they treated him poorly when it came to trying to buy a GT4RS (and trade in the 992 GT3). He didn’t give a lot of detail there but it sounds like they weren’t going out of their way to try and get him a car.

I mean, Chris Harris also has car ADHD. So I wouldn't expect him to keep a car that long. (Yes, I know he has a couple that he holds on to.)
