I have no idea what my fuel purchase record is and I've never kept track in any form

I save all my gas receipts. In town I only go to one Shell station and use the same pump every time.

Last Sunday I topped off the X5 and the 540. The X5 was at 3/4 and the 540 was close to 1/2. Nearly $90 for both, Shell 93.

You East Coasters are lucky in that your fuel prices are sometimes a good dollar per gallon lower than what I usually pay.

NV prices tend to be a little bit higher than the national average.

Just out of curiosity, do you remember the most expensive fuel stop you had when you were pulling your 5th wheel with that GIGANTIC truck ??

It's a 32-gallon tank so this was way lower than I like to run it, but IIRC this was coming back from Lincoln (it says 2:21 AM) and we had stopped at two shuttered stations before finding one that was actually open. I got a little nervous with that deal.

I haven't put fuel in the Ram since January 8th.
My g/f's cousin has a Ram (don't know what year, but it's a good 10-years old). It's a 1/2-ton that rode REALLY nice (for a truck), and towed my boat like there was nothing back there, unlike my Chevy beater.

Thankfully we don’t drive much these days!

We get gas points from one of our grocery stores redeemable at Shell and I’m typically able to redeem ~$1/gallon credit give or take each time I fill up, up to 20 gallons. Maxes out at $1.50 per use. (Side tangent - for some reason we spend a ton on groceries considering there are only 2 of us, which I guess pays off on minimizing the sting with gas)

X5 has ~22 gallon tank so I typically try to run it low enough that I can put in 19-20 gal to maximize the savings.

With that credit I’m in the mid/high $3’s for premium these days. Regular price for premium is in the $4.75-$4.85 range I think? My last fill up was $67 and was 19.x gallons, so figure ~$3.50 net price.

Costco is down to $3.95 for premium these days. Gas tax suspended...

Oddly the CTS and Boxster averaged almost identical MPG (right around 22) for all miles I out on both…. I still remember that I used to spend $195 per month on fuel — the average over 5 years…

As for this question, I charged up yesterday during the day. Teslafi (the data logger I use now) shows I used 27.62kWh to charge the battery from 52 to 90%. Cost was $0 since we were generating solar. It was a nice sunny day, but the car was drawing 11kW, and the house was pulling 2-6 (laundry day…), so the combined load drew a bit from the house battery about 10%. But that charged back up before sunset.
You really do have it made with that "very fast golf cart". And generating your own power source is just icing on the cake.

NV has its share of sunny days (iirc, it's like 250 or so days a year), and I REALLY should install solar panels on my house like 3 of my coworkers have done to theirs.

We get that as well, but ours is only $0.20 off per gallon.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any points when I filled out "Past Tents", our 454-equipped motorhome. Otherwise, I'd have saved $31 that day !!

Carson City is a good 25 miles away, and gas there is always a good 20-25 cents cheaper than Reno.

I'm thinking it's because it's the state capital of NV, lol.

The native-run (not sure if it's the Paiute, the Shoshone and the Washoe tribe) is usually 15-20 cents cheaper than Reno as well.

I think it's also because Reno adds a lot of taxes that inflate the prices to ridiculous levels.
