Apparently I DO have a two-car garage. Just barely…

Yep. Was thinking that, too. This was the first run. Coupe doors are a pain to deal with in tight spaces.

Also, for pet escape control, I’d love to be able to open the back of the Mazda with the garage door closed. But, there is an overhead storage area that impedes. It’s also handy, so I don’t want to take it down.

Overall, the garage is a tad too short and a tad too narrow. It was certainly a carport once upon a time. There’s a brick wall on one side (wonderful for car doors) and a brick pillar on the other.

I will always have to make my kid get out of the car before pulling in….

This can help a lot:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074KJZBP4/

Got it shortly after buying the first Camaro and it works great.

The cabinets next to the 2 aren't doing you any favors mounted where they are.

Ah. Thanks! I did start to look at those, but didn’t get far. The white cabinet seems to be anchored somehow. But yes, both probably need to go.

Out here in NV, most new houses are built with 3-car garages. I guess the builders here think that customers will fill them with motorcycles, bikes, quads, boats, side-by-sides, etc., because the Reno/Tahoe region is all about outdoor activities.

When I was looking for a house, a 3-car garage was one of my must-haves. Lucky for me there were many houses to choose from with those.
