This is a nice cab! Love the color combo.

How did an 06 get that steering wheel?

Vastly better alternative than the brown if one can tolerate black on black.

eBay would be my guess. Who knows, Porsche appears wonky when it comes to their steering wheels on the 997. I have the ‘pizza’ steering wheel on my ‘09 and it was also offered with the ‘pizza’ optional multifunction wheel during that time as well.

Speaking of steering wheels… the sport design one I ordered arrived yesterday. There is more to the story, but I will divulge the details re it at a later date.

That wheel was the sport wheel for the 997.1 cars. It’s what I put in my car (though I got mine from eBay).

Not my top color choice though it wouldn't stop me. The awd is a bigger minus to me.

I'm with you that AWD is a bigger minus. The rear engine part is the bigger turnoff to me... though not as much as the colors

I've written about one memorable hooning drive multiple times. I took my rwd 997.2 with summer tires (though not the highest perf ones, I think they were potenza re050-a or sth) out after an unexpected, out-of-season, unsalted snow/slush storm.

I simply could not believe the traction. I didn't hit hills but lots of turns behind warehouses and other abandoned areas. The drifts were epic, controllable and fun. A very different experience than an m3 or a cayman. I think the 911 is the last car that needs awd unless you want weight on the front axle, additional weight on the steering and less feel on the steering.
