Pics: Mohawk Trail drive - western Mass
Yesterday (Sat 10/14), I met with a couple of guys from the Z4 boards (www.Z4um.com) for a drive up the Mohawk Trail (route 2) from Greenfield Mass west to the "hairpin" in North Adams.
It's a beautiful drive just made for sports cars - in fact, there were several small groups of 'Vettes and Boxsters running the trail including a HUGE contingent of what seemed like 20 or so S2000's. Some pics: Left to right: Murph914, Sharp11, and Orangewizard We walked around and had lunch in beautiful downtown Shelburne Falls Crossed this bridge (more than once) Then headed west up the trail to the infamous "hairpin" (visible in the upper left corner of my nav screen) Parked 'em nicely at the top and enjoyed the view The "hairpin" North Adams Mass The boys: Bill (murph's boyhood buddy), Murph914 and Orangewizard (I'm holding the camera) high above Mass and NY (opposite the hairpin) [/quote] |

Are those guys from the Boston area? I saw two black Z4s in Concord yesterday parked together at a gas station and chatting. One had the red leather...

hi E.
thanks for the pictures! i was wondering where the hairpin was exactly and you pinpointed it for me. that's beautiful. i was hoping to run the same route this weekend, but work and life kind of got in the way. (the z4 looks a little tight for some of them boys....)

Lem: Maybe next spring we NE guys can all do a get-together and drive the trail, from Greenfield it's only about 60 miles or so.
Rumatt: Yes, man, what a day for gatherings, I also saw quite a few antiques heading up I91, I suspect to some sort of show or another. Got stuck behind a very slow caravan on the I84/I91 interchange only to find it was a funeral procession with a big sign on the back of the hearse which read "we love you Vic" - a surreal day in many ways. Zascavant: That sounds like the boys, Concord would be route 2, yes? They came up from the Boston - Duxbury area. Murph's car has a dream red (nice) interior. Ed |

Yesterday was quite a day of car guy get-togethers. Yesterday I got passed by an impressive line of cars consisting of:
- Ford GT - Aston Martin - Bentley something or other - Ferrari - Porche GT3 - C6 Z06 And a few others too far ahead to recognize. What a mix. |

The croc would like to join the party too... (I should watch the regional forum a bit more carefully) I'd get to show it to FC (hee hee).
