TMC forum hosted an owners conference last summer. They just announced the 2014 one -- happens to be in mid July, and also will include a track day at Laguna Seca.

The dates fit into our road trip next summer -- so looks like I may be able to join...

JST -- you in too?

Woman at the Tesla stand mocked me for not getting a P85.

"You have a regular S? Those are really nice if you don't care about fast cars."

She probably would have shamed me over to an i3 for getting a 60

Hmmm Tesla set up temporary Superchargers at the 2013 Refuel event... http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showt...l=1#post375384

Here's the page from the 2013 event... Looks like the cost to participate is very reasonable... Www.refuelraces.com

The Merritt Parkway Superchargers are open, at least on the northbound side.

If the new remodeled "service areas" (I use the term loosely) on the Merritt are the same size as they previously were, that looks like it's about half of the entire parking capacity. I bet lots of non-electric cars will be using those spots on a regular basis, much to the chagrin of those desperately needing a charge. And there's not a lot of room for cars to sit and wait for those spots to become available.

They've added diagonal lanes at the pumps, but yes, it's small and crowded - the parkway dates back to a different era, when "parkway" meant driving somewhere to park and enjoy a picnic.

The Fairfield County Supercharger strategy seems to be to put them in all the Service Areas. Basically overpopulate the Superchargers so one will be avail when you need it (and if they are all full, you can get to another one within ~20 miles -- even if that means popping from the Merritt to I-95...
