It has not been charged since the accident. Overall, it’s holding up well. It will need to be charged soon though...

Why would the shop be responsible for charging your car? It's not like they fill cars with gas when those cars are in for service

Because if it the battery goes to zero it can damage it. Even going really low is bad for it.
And it drains (very slowly) even while just sitting. And cars Tesla repairs take months |

Yes, I understand that. I'm more just poking at the fact that most shops aren't going to be prepared to have to maintain the charge of an electric car while it's in for service. In time I guess this is something they'll have to be trained and equipped to handle.

I understand your sarcasm, but I bet maintaining charge has something to do with being an "accredited" Tesla body shop

They charged the car today by the way. When I visited the body shop back in October, I asked if I needed to bring in the UMC (ie the mobile charger), which I keep in my garage. They said nope and they’d charge it when needed. When the accident happened, it had just over 250 miles of range on the battery. The car then sat for 2 months at the body shop, losing a bit of charge every day - not unlike a laptop that loses charge in sleep mode. It was down to about 50 miles of range before they plugged it in today...

So 64% of charge over 60-ish days ~= 1%/day. This matches my observations as well.
Glad they charged it. I'd have been getting anxious once it went below 20% |

For those wondering how to figure out if you qualify for the $5k refund / free super charging, it's simple. (picture from TMC)
