"Pulling shit off the car" in this case is removing about 9 screws for the undertrays that are almost certainly going to have to be removed to make any repair. "Poking around to diagnose" would mean a quick visual inspection for anything that's blatantly wrong (like an unattached hose on a turbo car making no boost) and maybe actually touching the main parts and where they fit together.

But you're right, not weird. Depressing or something.

So do they have a solution for this problem, or do you just have to live with hoses periodically popping off?

We'll see.

There were more than a few reports of this happening on the forums up until about a year ago, fewer and fewer reports for a while and nearly nothing since then. Almost all seemed to be 2013 Job 1 cars like mine. Very few, if any, '13 Job 2 or '14 cars, but you know, anecdotal. There doesn't seem to have been a part number change, but perhaps the torque spec changed or something?

I've read a lot of comments about the fasteners being cheap and lousy and that the flange from the IC doesn't leave a lot of space for clamping force to be applied, so...
