Eh. It doesn't take *that* much speed to wrap a car around a pole if it hits in the right place. Either he went wide and dropped a wheel and spun to the inside, or he got too enthusiastic with the throttle, and spun to the inside. Not much else that could result in a car ending up backwards to the inside.

I can attest that ~30 MPH into a 4x6 post leaves a pretty good mark on a quarter panel.

I've instructed plenty of people who have spun their cars and kept their foot flat on the gas for seconds after the spin started. I asked them later about it and they claimed to have no knowledge of what I was talking about.

It seems entirely plausible that this is a similar scenario, but obviously I don't know for sure.
