It makes sense to allow it, but that's not allowed in NJ. There is no permissible left on red in NJ.

I don't believe that is complete, with regard to the implied NJ legality.
There is no mention in the NJ driver's handbook of left on red. But I admittedly haven't gone combing through the statutes.

Actually, they aren't the ones I worry about and avoid. At least the blue hairs tend to move very slowly, allowing plenty of time for everyone else to notice and get out of the way. It's the clueless/indifferent/selfish element who do unexpected things at the worst possible moments that keep me alert.
