Now THIS is an M6....
THIS has to be just about the most appealing M6 I've ever seen (at least as what the verbal description and pictures would lead me to believe....)
Gawd - I want a bigger garage. I wonder what the reserve is (and if it goes past, what the auction amount will end up being) And it's only 200 miles away to boot. Damn. Life isn't fair.... (too many good choices...) I can almost honestly say if I didn't get the 740i - I'd be on the road going down to look at it.

yeah.
that is an M6. except for your sake, i'm happy that you have the 740 because it's faster, better handling and also likely more luxurious.

Actually - With the Mustang away being restored - I actually have room... Ummm...... Quote:
The one thing the E24 has over my E38 is just the pure aesthetics of the body. Next to the E9 - It has to be the most visually appealing car I can imagine BMW will or can ever build. And - It aint now slouch on the road either. I don't need the 4 doors of the 740 (I have the W126 for that). I don't 'need' the raw speed of the 740 either but - I'd also imagine the M60 I have will be easier to maintain than the M motor in the long run. The thing that worries me is the rest of the stuff in the E38 that can go TU. Around here - Who said logic has anything to do with our choices in cars. If that were the case, TD would have gotten that Camry months back.

While I love the M6 and rode in a new one in 1988, I have never driven one. I have heard that it is purely a GT automobile (heavy).

I dunno...I love older BMWs but the M6 never really caught my fancy. When it comes to the big coupes, I much prefer the 3.0 that preceded it.
