My wife’s car has a dealer frame on it. But the dealer is 2000 miles away... doesn’t bother us much since it’s just the brand and city name, so doesn’t feel like we are advertising...
In the 80s, one of the BMW dealers in Phoenix would affix a metal badge next to the license plate in the back. The badge was just an Arizona flag. No dealer name or logo. I always thought it was cool - if you knew that it was a dealer badge, you knew. If you didn’t, you had no idea...

When I go to put my plate on the new car, I give the frame back to the salesperson. I assume they put it back in the stockpile to be reused on another car. No rudeness intended.

Luckily, the W123 TDT was probably not his first choice for hooning.
