What would you do?
So I finally got around to having the Bridgestone RE760s taken off my ZHP's wheels, because I sold them to some poor sucker who thinks he wants them. Ha!
I was planning on ordering a set of Conti DWs for the wheels, but the guy at the tire shop pointed out that three of my wheels are bent and one of them is cracked. He put them all on the balancer for me to see how bad they were and showed me the crack. They're all repairable, but the bill from Wheel Worx is going to be about 750 to turn them from crappy into new. I'm honestly not surprised - the car had some vibration issues in addition to the problems I had with the tires. Thing is, I've never been a huge fan of them. They're a pain to clean, they're heavy and I'm not a huge fan of the look. I found a set of wheels I like, but they're about $1300 with shipping. With tires, tire mounting fees, etc I'm looking at a $2200 bill all told, versus about $1600 to have new tires put on my new ZHP wheels. So, what say ye: fix the stock wheels for $expensive or buy something I actually like for $$expensive? |

Interested in some 18x8.5" Entei NT-03s? I have 14 or 15 of them and would cut you a nice deal.

600 bucks to be happier with your car?? Why not??
I would keep the old, damaged rims just in case though. Depending on how long you expect to keep the car, original rims might be worth more to the car way down the road.

I'd probably go with new wheels, but...eh.

Personally, I never liked the ZHP wheels... and would dump them for that reason alone.
If that's somehow relevant. |

If it were me ...
I'd take the opportunity to ditch the 18's and go down a size to 17's - some kind of nice, lighter weight wheel (and tire combo with a little more sidewall). I like the ZHP wheels, but as you say, they're very difficult to keep clean. |

If you have the space, keep the oem wheels for completeness' sake.. Drive on something light and that you like. After some delay and resistance, I'm digging black wheels these days as long as the car is not black.
