I haven’t tried the voice commands—I should, though I remain really self-conscious about talking to my car for whatever reason. Re: insurance: the M3 is about $75 more every six months than the Tesla. |

I honestly don’t understand why you shit on Tesla so much for this. Of any company anywhere in the world, they’re the ones that have done by far the most to make electric travel accessible to people that don’t have their own charging solution at home.
There are lots of people for whom even Teslas won’t be convenient. Point taken. There are also lots of people who think Teslas won’t be convenient, but who are wrong. I’m not interested in trying to convince the first group to buy a Tesla, only the second. |

Next time someone reviews the garage floor sealant they used, should the thread become about not everyone in the world having garages? |

I haven't driven a 3 yet. I really want to, but at the same time I don't. Selling the Boxster and the Mazda and replacing it with a 3 is a cost I'm just not interested in taking on right now. My waffling on this has a period of about two weeks, and I'm in a low on that waveform right now. A couple weeks ago when it was 100 degrees outside and I was sitting in traffic in a convertible with the top up I was pretty close to pulling the trigger. Last night, driving home from work early in the evening with the sun setting, the top down and 75 degree air wafting through the cockpit... Not so much. |

Right? Nothing can put you in the moment quite like a convertible. That’s what makes them so addictive, despite the fact that they are imperfect all-around vehicles.

Being able to pre-warm the car (and seats) from your phone is nice though. |

Yeah but here's the thing with that. It would live in a climate controlled garage at home, and work is only 25 miles each way. So even if I had one of the midrange cars, I'd have plenty of range that I wouldn't have to pay the insane fees to charge at work. And in the winter, Marisa and I don't do any of the long trips that would tax the range that much.
