But they also got a much better master cylinder, noticeable improvement in pedal feel/action compared to 987's. I don't think the .2 received the update.

PASM is standard, and with a DSC module, you can load in the GT3 damper tuning and swap between a soft cruise setting and a GT3 sport setting.

DSC module info here if you're interested: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1101...ol-module.html)

If you want more power, slap a cobb tune on it and you're at GTS levels.
You make a good point the 991.2 is so fast you don't need the S model ...

Josh (PA) are you getting the DSC Module ?

I mean you can also just come up and drive my car to see if the .2 is worth the upgrade.

Equ thinks the master cylinder is a big deal... It's not. The brakes are great. But I'm not someone who needs to have a brake pedal that feels like stepping on a concrete paver

I think about it from time to time, it seems cool and people rave about the flexibility of easy chassis tuning but I as of yet have found plenty of other things to spend money on. The car drives really well with PASM in sport setting, I really don't need more performance at the moment.

Funny. I’ve been thinking my little 2 needs a bit more power and a bit harder edge...Makes me feel like I can one day let it go. Buy the Audi wagon or whatever, and start shopping for a more rigorous fun car. Possibly a used Boxster of some sort. And, if it’s a secondary fun car that doesn’t tax my knee every day, back to a stick...

I still enjoy my 1er a lot. It's nowhere near as surgical as the 911, but it is much more easily pushed and has a puppy dog sort of personality. Willing to go and go and go, but not so dialed in as to be sterile. The 1er was much better than the 2er from a steering and communication standpoint (plus mine is a stick), but it would be nicer with another 30 - 50 hp. It would be easy to add, but like the DSC module, it hasn't risen to the spend money on it level of desire yet.

I don't remember saying it's a big deal. I owned a 996 then a 987.1 then a 997.2 then a 987.2; in that order. The brake pedal sucked in both 987's. It was good in both 911's and the 981. I had mushy moments on the street. I'm not measuring distances for a C&D test, I'm not racing. This is my subjective feel on the street.

I can't really fathom what sucks about it. The pedal is firm and predictable, never mushy. I think there was something wrong with your car.

I do recall, after years of hearing how spectacular Porsche brakes were, that coming off the ZHP the 987.1S brakes had a smidge more softness at initial application, but nothing remotely objectionable.

BMW's (at least 3ers) in my experience do have a firmer initial response.

Except for the X3 derive that I tested recently.
