Didn't manage to get pics of any of these gems because I was driving when I saw them, but...

1) Yesterday's commute home (which was foggy, cold and rainy) saw a slammed, "stanced" IS300 with a carbon fiber hood off the side of an exit ramp with a gradual curve. Based on the debris on the road it looks like he went off on the *inside* of the ramp, caught the curb, spun across the ramp and completed the 360 just in time to center-punched a tree on the outside of the ramp. Dude was out of the car talking to a cop so it appeared he was OK.

2) Camry-on-Camry violence yesterday coming back from dinner in Rockville. On a straight stretch of MD-97 (two lane winding road) a Lexus ES rear-ended a Lexus RX. Best guess is the RX braked for a deer and the ES driver wasn't paying attention.

I have seen two incidents I wish I had pictures of in the last two days as well. Both single-car accidents.

Yesterday on the ICC with a lot of emergency response equipment in attendance, we had a Lexus ES on the wrong side of the guardrail, upside down.

And today, coming in to the office park here in Columbia was a Camry that managed to get over the curb and 50 ft in to the grass facing the wrong way.

In both cases the cars were off the outside of a modest curve.

Have you ever experienced the torque steer in a Camry? It doesn't surprise me at all.

With the onset of winter in New England, it isn't Camry's littering the roadside wrecks list - it's the ubiquitous SUV, of all sizes and makes, driven by impatient drivers on all season tires, who've no doubt been sold a bill of goods that with AWD, you can go "anywhere, anytime fast - in all kinds of weather."

Add to that, their under-inflated and bald all-season tires.

Around here we get the single-car SUV accidents starting with the first dusting of snow. And we get a lot of them.

Funny... Marc Maron has the typical Camry outlook. Couldn't be more on the nose. Starting at 6:48 in the podcast above:

That's right, I had a Camry, and I just got a little nicer Camry.

You know why? Because between you and I, I don't give a fuck about cars.

I sold my car, the classic shitbox, a baseline Camry that had nothing in it, that I bought online without driving it, in 2005, just ordered it online, they drove it to my house, and I gave them a check.

I've been driving that for the last hundred thousand miles, a little less, I just don't care, I don't want to have a car I care about.
Pretty much nails it.
