someone told me recently, after a WOT run in the old 996, "this must be the fastest car you've ever owned". and factually, it's not. the C6 Z06 was. and for fanboi bench racing, it was an 11.6 second quarter mile car. but it lacked a lot of intangibles. i think the reality is that this is why as we age, the more we turn to vintage cars?

I'd like to turn the Mazdaspeed into a Chevy SS. But that would require a large investment of money to make that happen, so, not happening.

Seems like a DYI project you could actually do.

The problem with the G8 GXP is the same as the SS. I can't sell a $5,000 Mazda and get myself into a $40,000 GM V8 sedan without an additional $35,000.

2009 G8 GXPs still run nearly $30k with under 100k miles. $25kish over 100k miles.
Most of them sold new near $35k.
