Also, you can add a lot of power by swapping the manifold. BMW really crippled the 328 to make space for the 335.
Doesn't surprise me. The 330i ZHP put out 235hp in 2003 with an engine from a few years prior.

That the 328 put out 230hp 8 years later from the same displacement was silly.

Similar to Mazda getting only 155hp out of the ND Miata. Now they offer 30hp more. I bet they could squeeze even more.

lol- well figure a nice example of an e91 likely goes for around 12-15k. Since this is EAG, figure 30k?

The description has some nice tidbits- my personal favorites are "adult owned" and the 4 inch binder. Sounds like they were reaching a bit with this one.

It's a nice car and I'd love to have one, but for the likely price of it I think there will always be better options (such as a 15k e91 and a 15k miata). Also the F31 wagon looked so much better but of course lacked 6 cylinders and a manual.

I like the e90 interior

BMW shipped a 268hp N52 from the factory. I think that 300hp in a streetable trim is very doable.

Edit: For comparison, I’m told that a no boost N55 produces a fairly tragic 180hp.

That is really anemic, unless that is to make it more bulletproof under boost. The E46 325 was what, 183HP?

Too funny.

The bone stock (dual Zenith carb) 2.8L M30 in my CS was rated at 170HP. IN 1970!!!!

Slightly (but not much) reduced compression, timing, and probably cams. Turbo cams and timing are very different.

Yes, but rated at a different standard.

Does anyone here have a 328? N54 manifold + tune is doing 250rwhp (nearly 300 at the flywheel). Seems like a nice setup. And with the N54 manifold, unlike the 330i three stage, it’s revvy.

The turbo manifold? That's a cool idea.
