Post a recent picture of your vehicle(s)

Got the Alfa detailed in the office garage today. I still think this is one of the best looking sedans on the road. (Two more pics from when I got it home, before the storms rolled through.)

I'd agree...can't think of a better looking sedan right now.

Not mine, but this is what I’ve been driving in LA.

It does look great. But is somewhat of a doppelgänger for my car! Without the teef, of course.

Our upcoming M3 will also be a doppelgänger.

From the render...

Both, but the A6 is fine. My parents deliberately bought the last year of the supercharged engine because they prefer it to the turbo.

It’s an appliance. It does what it does very well. My only real complaint is that the ZF8 hunts a bit on the LA hills, but that’s just a universal ZF8 problem. And you probably remember what Micheltorena is like.

If it was sold here as a wagon, that would have been spectacular, but they refused to buy the Allrad.

Iirc they didn’t even import the allroad version of the last gen a6.

When they bought this, the current gen had been released.

Also, the big driver of this purchase was that the B8 S4’s DSG box was going out. I don’t know why the allrad gets DSG, but that was a big factor. (It’s been long enough that I had forgotten about that.)

Yup- you are right. It does get a DSG with this gen. From the reading i've done, it looks like Audi employs the DSG on cars with their "Quattro ultra" system. Basically, it can decouple the rear wheels in certain conditions (like highway cruising) to help save fuel. I'm not exactly sure why it only works with DSG, but my guess is that they buy the whole system from a single supplier. Pretty much all the regular "A" cars get this system now. The SUVs (Q), S and RS models get the traditional ZF 8 speed with a torsen center diff for the most part (probably something to do with the amount of torque the system can handle).

And, yeah, it is something that gives me pause about this car because I could definitely imagine having DSG problems more frequently than with a ZF 8 speed.
