2018 LA Autoshow
Went yesterday with the PCA club. Was worth the $20 since we got to go into the Porsche room early and all the cars were open. Then got into the normal auto show afterwards.
Some pics -Blue is replacement for Saphire. Looks good but a bit darker then saphire. -Sport tex seats are very nice -Front sensors are look bad and added on. Also my cousin thought the text in the headlights was obnoxious. -Carbon fiber roof seems to be a option |

That is so cool you got to see the 992 up close so early in it’s release .... I am so jealous.
I gotta say I am a bit on the fence on this one, when I first saw the pictures of the 991 I loved it, I thought they took the 911 to a newer sleeker look but this one kind of hits me differently... the back and front looks a little too busy and boxed off though something tells me I will get used to it and my car will look dated after its release. Argh ... I bet in months i’ll be in love |

I haven’t tried the 7 speed yet so not sure. Hate to say but with PDK being no cost option I would be very tempted to get it.
Interior of the new 992 is very nice. They had the refreshed Macan with the 100 buttons and it seemed dated already. |

Haven’t driven the most recent gen of PDK but it does nothing for me.
At this point the only 911 that interests me is the 991 GT3 Touring—that one interests me *a lot* but not enough to spend that kind of money on. |

I can (I think) honestly say the last 911 that would interest me is the 997.2
The newer cars are just 'too much' for me. Too much 'stuff' - the writing in the headlights are a perfect example of that in my mind. The 997 had enough power to be really fun - I don't need more. The size of the car is big enough - the newer ones are even bigger... When I was at the Porsche Museum this last fall - they have a display showing the silhouette's of each series superimposed on the wheelbase of the first 911 (1963 model year). It is amazing how larger the current cars are over even the 997. Plus - I just don't need to spend more $$ on a new (or newer) car than the 997. Then again - I have E9, E23 and Mustang at home too. I guess I am just an old fart.

I think the 992 is all kinds of sexy. But like a supermodel with heinously bad breath until the three-pedal option is available.
