I mean, yeah? I occasionally use my third car as a day-to-day driver, meaning that while I don't drive it all the time, when I do drive it I commute in it. Or I did.

Not quite sure on this in regards to the 991.1, it should be being the 992 is out but then you have the Porsche Purists who think you need an NA Engine, add in a manual and your golden.

I look occasionally at the market because of my particular car which is a 2012 1/2 991.1S manual and it seems in the last few years the price hasn't budged (it has gone up recently due to Covid like every other cool car).

Yeah you're probably right. I really like the 991.1 actually and they do seem to go for big $ on BaT. People seem to go nuts for clean 997s though.

A tale of new 997s.

2005 997.1S, in a nice color with an interesting interior, but a bit rough in terms of wear (the tan interiors don't wear well). 60K miles, some needs. Current bid? $12.5.

2011 997.2GTS, in white (blah) over black (blah), only 4K miles, essentially as new. Current bid? $71K

That is a gorgeous car. 911s look great in white. I'd swap the wheels for silver, but that's picking nits.

White is boring as hell on these cars, though I'll concede it doesn't look too bad on the GT3s, mostly because they have more visually interesting details.

Not a fan of the center-lock wheels, but I agree silver would be better. And the lack of sport seats is irritating. Otherwise it's a great spec, which makes me even more puzzled about why the buyer never drove it.

And honestly for the price it will go for, I'd rather have a 997.1 GT3.

You'd hate my cars ... at this time I have 3 white cars and 3 black cars soon to be changed to 4 white cars and 2 black cars ... I think they all look great but like they say different strokes for different folks.

White works on the 911 because you so rarely see them in that color. The boring colors are the ones everyone buys. Steel gray, light gray, dark gray, silver and black.

One color I always liked on the 991 is Red, it is very rare to see, the one thing I would be concerned about is it is not a desirable color for resale.

I think this one looks awesome ... yeah I know a lot of you don't like black wheels.

The resale thing is interesting. My bet is on a 911, bland colors sell faster (particularly on the used car lot), but that unique colors are actually worth more in the long run.
