turbo...

My old coworker is selling the hated 996 turbo. Besides the looks(+interior) the platform seems great.

Known history and well take care is a plus for me, he definitely does not seem to be the type to beat it.

At 39K I might hit it, but I've definitely fallen out of love with "numbers cars" and can't help but wonder whether a non-turbo might be a better choice.

Metzger and no IMS issues is biggie for me.

I prefer rwd, I know you can disconnect the front axle, but the old school awd with the power might be ok with me.

Metzger 996(s) sound like the only bargain of the porsche world these days. I don't know anything about the price, but if you can get it for a good deal it seems like a big win (especially with the coveted colored wheel cap crest option)

I think the turbo bodykit went a long way to making 996s look decent

I am assuming 997.2 S are still 50-60k + . I wouldn’t 991 too but they are even more money.

Air cooled are stupid expensive and for the 996 the turbo or GT3 are the only models I would consider.

What's the question? $39k is as cheap as you'll find a 996tt. Original owner (who you know) and low'ish miles; that's a great buy.

If it has sports seats, ask if he wants an 04 z06 in trade.

997.1 will be mostly in the $60-70+ range.

Nope, prices have been going up all winter (996's too).

Seriously, if that car was around here from someone I knew, it would be in my garage.

Edit: It would be better if were a later year car, and the front bumper thing might hurt it a little, but you could probably buy it and list it on Rennlist and make a couple grand in a few hours.
